not to harp, but

I know I have said it alot and I usually try not to repeat posts about common things in our life, but I haven't been using this blog at all for so long and I am making a commitment to get back to it, so for one last post... The separation was the best thing we have done in the last 6 years.  We have had some of the best times lately and I am constantly thinking that things are so good.  We have a garden full of vegetables, our schedule is slightly more relaxed than in the last 3 years, I have been able to study more and more effectively than in the last 3 semesters or so, both of us have had the time to be the parents we want to be and do the things with the kids that we like, and so our day to day life has been so comfortable and pleasant for the last several months.  It feels great.  I promise not to keep talking about it, but I just feel so grateful for the way my life is now.  That is all.

So...Jewel is ok now, after two weeks of crazy tests and worrying, a surprise full body rash while in Daytona with Mimi and Big Daddy, and two more doctor visits, she is not having any more tests, but has to go back for another blood sample in three weeks or so.  Hopefully, whatever caused the strange results will be resolved.  School is challenging but not overwhelming.  Trevor is reading anything that crosses him, and Jewel is showing some interest in math.  I really am relieved that the separation seems to have so completely fixed our relationship because our reliance on each other is the only thing making all of this possible.  The kids are getting all of the extra attention and time that makes me feel like we are doing all that we should for them.  Well, there is always room for improvement, but I at least can't see a million things that I wish I was getting done.  And, to put a cherry on top, Taylor got the part of tri-toms in the band.  He wanted it so bad and just tonight the band director told me, "He is a fantastic kid, I just love him!"  haha I am so proud of him!  So yeah, sigh, smile....night!
