Funny today!

I totally stole this from Jamie's myspace page, thanks! Also, congratulations! I am really happy for you. And, thank goodness it's Wednesday! =)

The fun at mimi's

This is how momo greets us. Asking for Jewel. =) On Monday, the first day of the move, Taylor and Jewel stayed with Mimi and Aunt Stephy. So, while we loaded the trailer and hauled our things, and Trevor frolicked on the beach with Trent's parents. Our other children played on the zipline and swam in the pool. (My mom's pool is salt water, and uses no chemicals, so that is cool.)We want to play the part of the kids on the next move. Oh, my dad built the zipline; and as he, my sister, and her husband (all helped) build powerlines for a living this one is safe. But I wouldn't just try to build it, unless you have some experience. I cringe watching the kids go down this. But it would have been priceless to see my face the day I walked around the corner to find my sister about to take my daughter on it. Oh, yeah, I was ready to faint. But, she and Trevor both survived it (more than once) and better still, enjoyed it. Oh, and Mom had surgery; it's pretty nasty looking, so of course I had to get a picture. So, that catches me up. Peace.

A little about the move...

This picture was engraved by hand, by Trent's uncle. We have one that matches (by the same uncle) that is a picture of Trent's grandfather. We took them on my lap, because they aren't replaceable and I really like them. We had the entire first day of the move, Monday with no children. So, to celebrate (ha ha) we held hands. We did get a load each from Gabe and Pete, so that helped, but for the first few days it was the usual three, me, Trent and Jewel. Trevor stayed at the beach until Thursday. We didn't actually get all the kids under that same roof until this Monday night. But, things are about normal now. Excepting the boxes and lack of trampoline. I could go on for hours about how great this move was compared to all those before it, but I won't. And, I have found Nirvana; it is called space. This house is wonderful, there is room for everything. I didn't take many pictures, and I hope I don't take any more, at least until i'm done. I plan on sleeping very little the next few nights. I am almost finished, and I'd like to be there by next Monday. So, back to work for me.... OK, so this is the bed in pieces. And, this is the finished product. (Taylor's room, obviously) The usual shenanigans.

I won!!

I won a prize from Alt-globe for the most voted. It was the Defending Unicorns post. Just thought I'd share, I am pretty busy; but, I know some posts are brewing.

you know that day...

that just won't stop. Mostly it won't stop going wrong. Yeah, that was yesterday. I'm really shocked that I didn't cry at any point in it, cause I really didn't want to be the mom yesterday. This is how it started. Well, actually it started with a still swollen (pretty stiff, in the morning) sprained ankle. Let's ignore the fact that I woke to plenty of "waiting for me unpacking" because that's just me complaining. So, I eventually made it out of the "breakfast fest" the kids made and went to the garage to bring in a cabinet. All the kids and the dog followed me, and Trevor closed the door. That completely locked us out of the house. No shoes, no keys, no phone, and Trevor in underwear. Yeah, feel free to laugh, I did. Then, I realized that I also had no cups, no food, no...Luckily, Trevor's clothes were in the garage, and Taylor's shoes, too. I used a rope from our old curtains as a leash for Hogan and grabbed the tandem stroller. After a thorough search found no shoes for me, I just decided it was time to go. We couldn't sit in the hot garage for hours and we couldn't get through the screen onto the back porch. That's what I get for trying to keep the babies locked in. (That will be really funny in a few minutes.) So, I set off to walk to the nearest store and call Trent. I am not knocking on neighbor's doors and (it seemed that) no one was home anyway. But, just as we started walking down the hot sidewalk, Taylor waved at someone leaving our subdivision; she waved, slowed and then stopped. I jumped on the chance and explained the situation. She (Caroline) let me use her Blackberry to call Trent. (And, now we are even.) He came home and rescued me. So, then, yeah, not even close to finished. So, then, a few hours later, the babies were playing on the back porch (you know the locked one) and I am vacuuming, moving furniture, folding clothes. I hear someone at the front door, I open it. There stands Trevor. OK, I flipped out. I ran to the porch just hoping Jewel didn't follow him. She wasn't on the porch anymore. I mean, I had just seen them. I knew immediately that Trevor had obviously figured out the lock on the screen door. I felt so stupid and I couldn't see Jewel anywhere. Taylor and I ran around the house and looked down the road and down the row of backyards. Then, a neighbor (different one) and her family heard me calling her and ran to their back yard to look and saw her leaving a playset in another yard a few houses down. As I ran to get her, she waved and said "hello". So, now I've met 8 neighbors and 4 of them are sure I am a basketcase. So, after that adventure, I thought surely tonight will be easier than today. I won't go into all the fun and interesting little things that the babies did with the chairs and the food and all the usual stunts. But, I will finish with what Taylor walked into the living room and said at 10:00. This was just before we finally figured out how to reset the garage code (that all the neighbors knew) and decided that we better end the night before it ends us. He said, "I have a rash." And he did all over his stomach, down his legs and up his arms. He isn't allergic to anything, and didn't eat anything different. He went to a neighbor's house, but only played cards. So, Trent ran to get Benadryl and I made Taylor get a shower. I searched his bed to make sure nothing bit him. But, shortly after the shower the rash started to go away. And, now it is gone completely (that was strange). So, I'll be glad when the fence is up (then, my brilliant son will also have to gain superpowers to escape). And, we need to hide a spare key (or as Taylor suggested, leave a window unlocked). (It will be interesting to see how the security system will play into that scenario when we actually figure it out.) Anyway, I will put the pics on as soon as I find the jump drive that I put somewhere. I'm going to check, but I think my sanity is sitting near it. I hope I find it soon.
